Dear Michael,

Got your letter almost a week ago. You sound depressed. I wish there¨
was something I could do for you, that sounds stupid, but it's still¨
true.

Please, don't worry about having ``something interesting'' to write to¨
me about. I like getting your letters no matter what. Things are¨
pretty boring here too!

Your living situation sounds like a drag. If you can't trust the¨
people you're living with, everything else is fucked. If you're living¨
in temporary housing, and have to worry about whether your money is¨
gonna get swiped, it's not too surprising you aren't getting stuff¨
done on things you want to do. It won't last. While I agree we're at¨
least partly responsible for what happens to us, don't forget there¨
are other people out there too and some of them are ASSHOLES who could¨
fuck up any good thing. Concentrate on GETTING THE FUCK OUT OF THERE!!¨
I hope you are by now!

Well, of course I HATE waiting til June for simply selfish reasons,¨
but you're worth it! Let me know what happens. I hope you can find¨
something decent until then.

You mentioned that you ran into a friend of yours, George. I think I¨
know him\dots{} Is he small, thin, really cute? Big smile, great¨
kisser? (Hyperactive as fuck too.) If so, tell him I said Hi. I've¨
been wondering and asking about him. I forgot that he told me he was¨
going up to Seattle, months ago. Small world, huh?! I hope he's OK.

(Regarding media selling us ``nuclear holocaust'' last year,
``eco-disaster'' this year) The fucking shits. They'll sell anything¨
the worthless bastards. Yes, there is serious damage to the planet,¨
but it's the end-of-the-world in the same way the nuke-war was; it¨
``might'' happen. The damage done is hardly irreversible.

Have a nice rebellion up there? We did! It of course wasn't as bad, or¨
bad in the same way as the papers/TV said (big surprise there huh).¨
There was NO racial stuff in San Francisco. It was pretty plainly¨
class/economic. I was working 3 blocks from downtown; the bus I take¨
(15/Third) is the one to Hunters Point/Bayview, the major black¨
neighborhoods. At 9PM I till the bus back, there were a bunch of black¨
guys on the bus, some with looted stuff. I was in the back near them.¨
They were having a swell old time, going threw their new duds, holding¨
them up ohh-ing and ahh-ing like a bunch of drag queens at a sidewalk¨
sale in the Castro. No problems here.

Pigs held a creepy curfew for two days, completely unnecessary. The¨
big national chain stores boarded up their stores, along with clueless¨
yuppie shops. On Friday, some were closed at night due to lack of¨
business.

I ``discovered'' an amazing place, right down the street from us. A¨
small park, the smallest in the city, right on the bay, nearly¨
deserted. Off to the right of it is a piece of land all grown over,¨
completely abandoned, some long-term bum houses on it. This connects¨
to a mile long piece of completely open land, with a few barrels of¨
toxic waste called the ``toxic golf course'' where the King Brothers¨
(Nosmo, Joe, Party, \dots{} get it?) play golf on Saturdays. (They all¨
wear those old-fashioned funny golf pants and hats. They are complete¨
freaks!) At the very very end of it is a pile of rocks behind a small¨
hill, with absolutely nothing around it. Amazing. I want to take you¨
there and make out.

Diet Popstitute has started KLUBSTITUTE in Berkeley Sat.~nites, at a¨
place called THUNDER BAY (ugh) an 18-over gay-only club, founded by¨
some rich guy who wanted young(er) gay people to have a place to go.¨
It's cool! Most of them are not even really out yet, and come with¨
girlfriends, and fool around with each other. The only bad part is¨
it's sooo suburban, but that's cuz they don't know any better -- yet.¨
KLUBSTITUTE, being so goofy and non-threatening, went over well.

Did you get your promotion? Quit your annoying toy-store job? I hope¨
you get to get rid of the annoying parts of your life. They seem to¨
come in waves, no!?

I tried to call you a number of times. Did your good-for-nothing¨
roommates tell you this? I thought so.

Well I'll talk to you sometime soon. Bye!
