\dropcap{M}ichael who?

I'm glad to hear that TESC is the same as ever. It sure beats getting¨
a job. Speaking of which, I'm doing contract work, building commercial¨
radio station studios. It was fun, but this one will be my last.¨
Boring people, and a prima donna engineer. It's good money though, and¨
it will be over in APril and I'll have a few K\$.

Good luck on your honeymoon et al plans\dots travel is good, and¨
getting Lane the fuck out of WA, even for a short bit, will be good.¨
Her parents are Shits. What else would you expect from them\dots¨
(their behaviour re:~railings on slimy steps that is, not Lane!)

re:~BIMBOX. Not being on their list is nothing to worry about. Sheesh,¨
what a buncha orthodox idiots they are turning out to be. Not sure¨
what of theirs you've seen. S.C.A.B.? The anti-gay stuff? Was pretty¨
funny, and pointful. For a while. They turned the ``gay bashing is a¨
case of mistaken identity'' into the usual vicious attacks on anyone¨
who doesn't agree with them. They did an anti-WSB issue. OK, fine, he¨
is a sacred cow, and cow-tipping is great, even when in bad taste (and¨
directly in line with {\it my} stuff\dots)

But like a lot of things like this, they seem to be taking themselves¨
seriously, and forgetting the point, and ending up like yet another¨
bunch of self-righteous idiots. They keep claiming it's all a joke,¨
but noone else seems convinced. The fact that one of them is a
state-paid shrink is not lost on me. Please don't tell people I said¨
this.

\dropcap{H}ear about SPEW in Chicago last year? There was SPEW2 in LA.¨
We went. It sucked. Met lots of cool people, but the LA experience was¨
a drag! We were left to fend for ourselves, and I ended up driving 4¨
hrs a day to/from crash space, food, event(s). Lots of bad fag disco.¨
Schmoozing with (non-zine) Famous People. Yuck.

Met Teg from BUNDLE OF STICKS and Drew Blood of various GERMS pubs.¨
Both utter sweethearts. 100\% trustworthy prime humans. Lots of other¨
people, but I connected well with them. The BIMBOX boys, Johnnie and¨
Rexboy, were quite friendly, as was I, and they didn't have a table.¨
People were friendly to them back. SPEW is a long story and I don't¨
have time nor inclination just yet\dots got back on Monday.

So\dots{} we did the enclosed, Deke and I. NEVER TELL ANYONE WHERE YOU¨
GOT THIS!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say, we did an excellent job, no? It was excruciating to¨
write. I wrote one line at a time, alternately laughing and gagging,¨
Deke did the layout and horrid slogans, and we discreetly left them¨
and passed them out at SPEW. I'm gonna mail one to Grauerholz, with an¨
explanatory note (he wrote me a while back ``\dots have you see the¨
new BIMBOX\dots when William saw it, it gave him the energy to live¨
another ten years\dots'') I'm sure he and Uncle BIll will appreciate¨
it.

\dropcap{L}ots of interesting things afoot here. How-To LPG book¨
selling real well -- Real Goods Trading Company is moving lots of¨
them. Am planning on a book about intentional communities in San Fran¨
and elsewhere, as a cultural how-to for wierdos -- we don't have¨
enough examples for kids coming out or anyone else -- we always have¨
to reinvent the wheel. I will make it also not a list of Cool People¨
and that sort of nonsense; no names and addresses, but neighborhoods;¨
how many people; how did you start; what is your focus; turnover;¨
rent; problems; etc etc etc and short interviews with members. Details¨
later.

At SPEW I met a cool boy. Michael. From Seattle. 22. Brown hair.¨
Smart. Slightly taller than you. Hmm. A pattern?

PS: Visiting here in ``spring'' is OK. When is that, I wonder. Lemme¨
know a bit ahead of time. Otherwise, no problem.

PPS: My father came out to me. (How's that for a teaser.)

PPS: Too much to say, too little time.
