The proper use of language in FidoNews is the same as the use of
language anywhere -- to get your point across effectively, amuse,
whatever. Whether some arbitrariy piece of writing does this or
not is entirely subjective... oh wait [tap on shoulder]... Oh I
get it! You mean don't use swear words! Or say things not on your
list of socially-acceptable subjects! I get it now!

Why not just say plainly what you mean -- I'll venture a guess that
the goal is the same as in previous calls for "proper language" --
to make FidoNews (in this instance) match your personal desires,
morals and fears. My advice is -- fuck you.

FidoNews is not a professional newsletter whose audience is some
slice of computer users. Not everyone who reads FidoNews is an
Upstanding Citizen of their Fair State.

Consider that the main-stream, the bulk of the human mass generally
get it's needs met at every turn. You walk into a suburban mall
bookstore, and 99% of the subjects are tepid and safe. Because your
world is so broad, you mistake it for *the* world, and people who
don't quite fit, there must be something wrong with.

Get a clue! My guess what the U.S. and to some extent European
cultures will be doing for the next 20 years? Discovering just how
small and unimportant white/european culture is in most of the
planet. It's really true, not everyone wants to have a nice life
with Nice Things. Even here in good old white US-of-A. You pay a
dear price for that life, which is fine for you; but expecting
everyone else to pay it as well is creepy.

Those who object to the Form of FidoNews (or whatever else that
other people do that you don't like) should get a hint that the
micro mimics the macro, that the large-scale imperialism of "The
US is Best" is the same lunacy that individuals apply to people
not like themselves. That maybe what you find offensive is utterly
normal and bland to some other people, no matter how hard you find
that to believe.

Those dumb-bunny Bedouins! They must be stupid living out in the
dirt, when their gov't wants to give them apartments! Where will
they plug in their hairdryers? Those US/English/Dutch punks? If
they'd just cut their hair, they might get hired, and be able to
afford nice clothes! (Yes even the US has nomadic cultures for the
most part invisible to nice people. Lucky for both of them.)

Max and Don have that clue -- they certainly run it differently
than I would, or did, but they understand the basic thread -- that
it's the *dissent* and fringe stuff that needs to get supported
and heard. The Mundanes already own everything else, and don't even
realize how greedy they appear, claiming this.

Start your own newsletter! I mean really, what's all this communication
technology stuff for?! I'm sure the editors would love to run your
newsletter announcements here in FidoNews!
