Bay Area Internet Literacy (BAIL) presents: INTERNET ACCESS - The DIRECT CONNECTION How to set up a 24-hour Internet Site. Saturday, March 12th 1pm-5pm 252 9th Street, San Francisco $50/pre-registered, $60/door. On Saturday, March 12th BAIL will present a 4 hour workshop outlining and demonstrating Full Time connection to the Internet for everything from a single host to a network. A working knowledge of basic Internet utilities such as telnet and ftp is expected. The seminar will cover SLIP, PPP and Leased-line connections and will start at 1pm and run to 5pm with a short break. "BAIL" is a very informal collaboration of Bay Area Internet folks, each of whom have their own involements with businesses or other work. "BAILers" have joined together to produce appropriate cost Internet literacy events in a collaborative, joint-venture format. The workshop leader, Tim Pozar, is one of the principles in The Little Garden, a Bay Area Internet provider specializing in low-cost Internet connections for "toaster nets" and beyond. Tim is one of the authors of "ufgate" and has been connecting people via technology for over 10 years.
