Guess who?

Martha. Same ole. A message you sent to a list got forwarded to
me. Wow. Where are you? I looked for you when I was in SF at
the beginning of last month, to no avail. How goes it?

I'm in S.F. I just moved back here the day after May Day, cuz I got a job
doing internet stuff. Pays pretty good, and I can do my own shit, too...
you know how I get! I'm doing well.

> :-)

What are you up to these days? Are you a hugger of trees? I'm a
revolutionary anarchosyndicalist (just a bit redundant there); I'm
involved in a lot of things, but most primarily I'm an organizer for the
I.W.W. (Industrial Workers of the World), as I have been for the last
coupla years.

The revolution's coming right along, too. How's Kowtown Coty, MOE?

Say "High" to folks for me, feel free to drop a line... Tell me what
you're interested in, and I'll send along copies of any pertinent info I
come across...

*********:-) * :-) * :-) * :-) * :-) * :-) * :-) ***********************
I got two messages forwarded to me - one about a march (in SF I think, so I
didn't quite get the directions) and yes, the Earth First one. My sister and
my husband are both on that list...Ruth forwarded me the messages for your
address.

Here's the great irony - when we were out in CA, we had several things that we
wanted to do but couldn't, as Eric's dad (who we were visiting) is the devil.
I wanted to spend some time trying to track you down and Eric (hubby o mine)
wanted to go visit the wobbly office. Two stones with one bird, it would've
been.

Eric is quite the syndacalist himself - I don't think he posts too much to the
list, but he forwards some of the stuff to me. I don't do lists, you know how
one's mailbox can get, and I don't have that much disk space. Anyway, he's
working on his undergrad degree with intentions of law school, and labor and
labor history are his main fields of interest.

I'm in school full time too - I'm an English (journalism/creative writing)
major, hmmm...most of the stuff that I'm doing is on sex and gender, although
I've been putting on and off again two big projects on conceptions of socialism
and feminism and socialism.

I see Skye a lot - she's graduated and finishing up with summer school, and she
might be staying with us through July and August, but her lease isn't up until
then, so she's still in Lawrence. I keep in pretty regular touch with Mindy,
she was just in town actually. She graduated from Antioch with a degree in
video communications and she's working for the Austin Public Television, in
Austin, amazingly enough. She seems pretty happy, she went through some pretty
bad times towards the end of college, her girlfriend left her and she had a
little crisis, but she seems like she's gotten it together. I guess Mikey is
still in Joplin, the last I heard he was working in the restaurant at the
(gasp) Precious Moments Chapel there. I see Jay at school sometimes, he's
doing some math computer degree thing, nothing that I understand. Do you ever
hear from Aaron? I wonder what happened to him.

Sounds like you're happy - is it so? Actually, it just sounds like you. Not
that you don't sound happy, but when I was reading that stuff Ruth forwarded to
me, it was so YOU, I could hear your voice. I think that's a neat function of
e mail in general - but this was a rattling, unexpected blast from the past,
making it that much more cool. Deke in cyberspace. Who would've thunk it?

hope to hear from you again,
much love,
martha

Wow... well, that's a lot you got going on there, gurleen! Married,
school, travel...

I'm gonna need time to digest it all. Mindy came out!!! (I always,
secretly wondered...) Sounds like the boys are doing their ruts...

Me, I don't know nothing bout nobody. Last contact I had with the old
crew was when Ben and, um, Mike came through (they were *so* cute
together, everyone thought they was fags...) I haven't seen Katie since
I've been back in town. But Kook City has Precious Moments galore... as
the techies say, "It's not a bug, it's a *feature*".

That was some quick response there, hon. You must be really wired in. I'm
usually around the terminal, slurping the Net as it were, M-F, 10 a.m. to
6 p.m. Pacific Whatever Time.

The march thing was about the Queer March in S.F. It could have only come
from a wobbly. I'm intrigued... if you could track down its route, it
would be a cool thing to know. We're all closer than ever.

Has anyone else come out of the proverbial closet? (I do the queer
activist thing a lot, too. And clinic defense. And anarchist
community-type stuff, too, but not so much the "lifestylist" stuff (like
gatherings) so much anymore. And, and, and...)

I'll be in touch, and am looking forward to likewise! *-)

P.S. If you want mildly bombarded with propaganda 'n' things, you have
but to say the word....

Yours for Optional Features!

Wow! You really haven't heard from her. She's been 'out' for four
years now! She had a longtime gal who left, mostly because Mindy is a dork.
They lived with us for awhile, on a 4 month vacation from school. I miss Erica
(her ex) a lot - she was very cool, if youngish.

Katie was in town right before my wedding - I didn't see her. My
sister showed her a school picture of my stepdaughter and Katie reportedly said
"Oh gross, what a stuck up little princess" (about a then-3-year-old no less),
so that was about the last I wanted to see or hear of her.

Oh, I thought I did. Ruth is on the union lever list and she saw it
and forwarded it to me. It was posted there, right?

Oh, a bunch of St Teresa girls have - but I don't think anyone you
know. If by lifestylist you mean the 'let's have a community where everyone
focuses on their individual issues of abuse' - GAG PUKE, I hope they get over
it. KC gay and lesbian community is run by that philosophy...what sort of
'community' is that individually focused, that I don't know.

Oh, you're a *transcriber*! Well, thus the luxuriant responses. I type
faster than I have any good cause to (just through sheer
hack-hack-hackage), but not like that!

Guess I can calm down about low long my responses are...

So Ruth's on the lever.com mailing list. I know the guy who maintains
that-- tiny little world after all. Is she a spectator, or does she get
all bothered and active about this interest of hers? (I guess you know by
now why I'm interested...)

What else? A daughter. Again, Wow. I'm trying to picture you as a mommy
(to something besides Graham, giggle giggle). Quite a trip, gal...

Say hi to the Union part of your family for me. I hope I get to bother
them about current activities-options...

P.S. This is *so* rad. Like that silly little man who *raves* now (and

thing and the world moves, sit in a chair and pictures change..."
Bonus points if you can identify the quote! But that's not to say *I'm*
